WHO Special meeting discusses health situation in Palestine

ISLAMABAD, Dec 10 (APP): The Executive Board Special meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) was held to discuss the health situation in the Palestine.

Caretaker Federal Minister for Health Dr. Nadeem Jan addressing the participants on this occasion, said that Pakistan aligns itself with the statements made by EMRO and OIC.

He thanked DG WHO Executive Board, Member States and other stakeholders for providing health services to affected people under difficult circumstances.

He said that the risk of infectious diseases is increasing. He said that basic health risks for people with existing conditions have also increased.

Dr. Nadeem Jan supports consistent and reliable safe routes for humanitarian aid, including medical supplies and their delivery to affected people.

“We recommend that the WHO provide a comprehensive report on the scale of this disaster at the next World Health Assembly.”
